10/11/2019 - The board of the Society met with Ethiopian ambassador to US, His Excellency Ambassador Fitsum Arega and had a productive discussion about the role of finance professionals in Ethiopia’s development endeavor. The lively discussion also emphasized the important role of the finance sector in facilitating and supporting the growth plan. Ambassador Fitsum also encouraged the engagement of finance and other professionals in the community. The Society’s board reiterated the importance of private equity in enhancing the engagement of the diaspora community in Ethiopia’s development. The Society and the embassy planned a road map to collaborate in mobilizing the diaspora finance professionals to bring positive changes in our country’s finance sector.
